Amassing Wealth

Unless you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth, you had better learn the ropes of saving. These are just a few pointers that will help you if you are just starting off, please feel free to add, in the comments section anything that I may have left out:

1. You need to have Goals. Not just mental goals. Write them down. Visualization is crucial to achieving that which you desire. The more you see it, the more feasible it becomes.
2. Know your capabilities. No one will know it for you. How disciplined are you? Find some quiet space to find out what exactly you want to accomplish in the next 6 months. As you progress, re-evaluate your goals. Then plan for another 6 months.
3. Try to stick with your goals. It is not always easy, but the feeling that comes from achieving your goals is totally worth it.
4. If you can, don't go it alone. Find friends, whether it's online etc. to help you. You would be surprised how helpful some people are.
5. Ask yourself, what are you spending too much on? clothes, food, movies, dates, gifts... compile a list and adjust.
6. Every paycheck, put a little cash away in a high yield savings account. Like I said before, every little bit adds up.
7. Practice what your mama always told you: You cannot keep up with the Joneses, it will drive you on Broke Lane
8. Find alternative ways to earn cash: what are you good at? What are you great at? Study trends and see where you could earn a few extra dollars. (Tell me your talents and I will help you find a way to earn more cash.)

Remember, You can do it. You have the ability in you to spend less and save more cash!

Every Penny Counts

Decades ago, people were a little obssessed with collecting pennies. After all, it only took 100 pennies to make a dollar. Today, in any given day on our way to work or school, we pass over 20 pennies lying helplessly on the ground. It's only a penny, we say, and walk right by.

Method to the Madness:

20 pennies a day: Logic...we never worked for it, all we did was just pick it up. Five days a week with 20 pennies a day is already $1.00. If we do this for 5 days a week, we end up with a nice $5.00 bill. Imagine this, an extra $5.00 bill that we did not have to work for. And guess what, there are days when we may be lucky enough to find more than 20 pennies. There are days when we may even find a ten cent coin.

So let's do the simple math: earning 5.00 a week would mean a whopping $20.00 a month! And $20.00 a month for one year would give us $120.00! Put this small sum in a high yield savings account( I know that interest rates are at their lowest right now) and see your money grow. Do this for a few years and you just made yourself some free vacation money!

Let us reverse our role as a nation of debtors. Let us save more cash!

I look around and so many families are struggling, people are selfishly taking their own lives because of the financial mess they have found themselves in. It is just way too sad.

Many economists are split as to whether we are in a recession. One thing they all agree on is that we are economically screwed. Things will get better but right now, it's not looking pretty.
